Banker Jailed For Stealing A Picasso Painting

Jaime Botin, former head of lender Bankinter and a member of the dynasty that has run Spanish multinational bank Santander for more than a century, was found guilty of trafficking culturally important goods and ordered to hand over the artist's Head of a Young Woman which is valued at 26 million euros (NZ$43.6m).
The painting was seized from Botin's yacht in Corsica after he took it there in breach of court orders that it should stay in Spain.
Botin, who is the uncle of Santander Chairman Ana Botin, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and fined 52.4 million euros (NZ$88m) for smuggling a Pablo Picasso painting out of Spain.
Spain has some of the strictest heritage laws in Europe. Any work of art more than 100 years old that is considered culturally important can be deemed a national treasure, forcing owners to obtain a permit before taking it out of the country. Botin was denied such a permit for the Picasso.
Prosecutors argued that Botin was smuggling the painting out of Spain, instructing the captain of his yacht to lie to law enforcement, with the objective of selling it at a London auction house. Botin countered that since the painting had been kept on his yacht, it had never been on Spanish territory and that he therefore had the right to take it to Switzerland for safekeeping, local media reported.

Couple Get Married Despite Volcano Exploding In The BackGround

A couple who ignored a volcano warning to push ahead with their wedding captured some truly unique photos of the day after it erupted as they walked down the aisle.
Chino Valfor and his new bride Kat had been making plans for eight years to tie the knot at Savannah Farm in the Philippines at 5.30pm yesterday evening.

A warning had already been issued about Taal Volcano located near by, but it hadn't reached emergency level as the ceremony began.
When the couple began their walk down the aisle, the sky filled with a gigantic plume of volcanic ash, which was caught in a series of amazing photos by wedding photographer Randolf Evan.
Randolf revealed that the alert issued about the volcano was at level two (out of five) when the ceremony began, but reached level four as the service continued.
That’s the time the wedding planner and coordinator were starting to talk to the Chino and Kat about the matter," he said.
"Surprisingly the mood throughout the day was calm. It was an intimate wedding so most of the couple’s guests were family and close friends.

"Funny enough, the smoke from the volcano just kind of like served as an entertaining backdrop changing from white, yellow, pink and finally to grey.
We just did our work as usual but the challenge was for us to talk to them and help maintain their composure as the situation showed no sign of stopping.
"Our team, as well as the rest of the suppliers, was just getting a feel if the couple wanted to postpone or not.
"They ended up going ahead with everything as we later found out that they have been planning for this day for eight years and two kids in the making.
“They were even able to do their vows, first dance and speeches and watch their on site slideshow. It was all very memorable despite the reception’s program getting cut short.”
Taal is the Philippine's second most active volcano and the plume of ash on Sunday triggered the mass evacuation of 8,000 people from the area.
"It was going to be a special day for them no matter what, and it definitely was.

Soul Serenade Monday 6th January 2020 Excerpts

This is the first Soul Serenade Monday for the Year 2020 and I think we should have a heart to heart talk, please whatever you do this year please by all means move move and keep moving in the right direction that is .

Ask God for guidance in whatever name you call him and in whatsoever way you worship.

This year also make up your mind to shed some weight any weight that holds or will hold you down be it Physical ,Spiritual , Financial,  Emotional and Sexual

Monday Thoughts : Revenge ! Updated

Whatever you choose to say or not say about zodiac signs and astrology I do believe that no one was born in a Particular Period,Particular day and Time  by Accident hence the theory that it is most likely people born under a particular sign have some similarities even in their diversity,That is how far it goes in astrology for me i do not however believe in Horoscopes where you are dictated to daily what will become of the day taking the freshness out of the the experiencing of each day ,hence i stop at only learnin the weaknesses and strenghts of each sign ,Now that said : I am A Scorpio by birth that is my Sun Sign, there are moon signs ascendants etc which i do not bother my head about .

Now scorpio my greatest weakness is the drive for revenge it doesnt help that as a scorpio i am also drawn to alot of spirituality and books the average person may not be interested in hence lets just say I have the tools for revenge at my disposal but then what differentiates a scorpion scorpio from an eagle scorpio is the ability to walk away from perceived and real injustice ,However i find that the scorpio revenge spirit comes lately.
You see the  weaknesses of each Zodiac Sign is a pointer to what needs to heal in the person's character and  being in this lifetime.
While the strengths is a pointer to what we can adequately utilize for our greatest benefits .
So yes i found Myself revenging and it was sweet knowing i could fight back but the the spirit of God departed from me like it does to every one who seeks revenge .

A Holy Book states that God says "Vengeance is mine I will repay"

No Human can adequately measure the commensurate punishment for another human's injustice . No Human can and that is why in God's wisdom he states that and little wonder Christ said Forgive 70 X 7 knowing fully well that ,that is like saying always forgive no matter what

In the battles that rage in life we all need the Spirit of God to guide and direct our steps aright but when we seek Revenge it departs because God the all knowing one might as well destroy all people from the surface of the earth and a puff of wind but He Chooses not too,You know why ?
Because He knows that at the switch of a button even the most evil man can turn away from his ways to become the most pious being and even a saint can fall to becoming a sinner.

And that is why Jesus in the face of pain and anguish though innocent of all they accused him off,He bore the pain and said 'Father Forgive them for they know not what they do"

I enjoin you today to forgive that person ,invite God into the Matter ,report it to God and leave it at HIS feet and watch and see if He wont take care of it and of you

UPDATE : For Peace to rain in any war all parties must sheath their swords ,one person cannot sheath and the other will see it as an opportunity to behead the one who has sheath his sword lest the sword be removed from its sheath and the battle rage on.......I strive to be like Christ,However I am Human.

These are my Monday thoughts i hope it has blessed you ,Thank you for reading

Japanese Store Scraps Wearing Of Period Badges

A Japanese department store has scrapped a "period badge" for employees that let colleagues know they were menstruating, after the policy sparked an internet storm, a spokeswoman said Friday.

One of Daimaru's upscale department stores in the western city of Osaka began the programme adopting an idea proposed by female employees.

The voluntary badges were intended to alert colleagues to the idea that coworkers with severe menstrual pains -- or other period-related needs -- might require longer breaks or extra help lifting heavy objects.

But local media reported the policy, prompting outrage on Twitter, several customers rang the store to question the merit of what is now dubbed a "period badge".

Kemi's Comment: Maybe we should adopt this in Nigeria, A badge that say "Please be easy on me i am on my period'

Pray For Australia

Australia is facing an unprecedented national crisis, the bush fires are tearing through cities and rural
areas, leaving millions of people and animals homeless and injured. Reports state that since September, at least 20 people have died and over 1,500 homes have been destroyed.

It's so bad that there is fear of entire species of plants and animals being wiped out by bush fires. So far, nearly 500 million animals have died, and if that does not alarm us, nothing will.

To paint a more realistic picture of the crisis facing wildlife, this image of a Joey (baby Kangaroo) caught and burnt while trying to escape, speaks volumes.

How To Make Banana Peel Tea and Benefits

Banana tea is made using  a peeled banana,Banana peels are typically discarded as trash, but they actually contain a dense concentration of nutrients including potassium and dietary fiber. While it seems unlikely that people will begin eating whole bananas anytime soon, peel included, banana peel tea is beginning to gain popularity.

Most of the health benefits are due to the pectin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C, potassium, manganese, and magnesium, among others.

Banana peel has higher amounts of magnesium and potassium than the fruit. Since magnesium may help with sleep, the tea is touted as a remedy for insomnia. While some say it’s good for weight loss.

Magnesium is often called “magic mineral” because it also helps with hormone balance, stress support, detoxification and more.
